Session Descriptions:
Our Heart - Dave & Anne Gebhart
Description Soon!
The Heart: Discipleship - David Quine
What is the Great Commission given by our Lord? Discipleship. Homeschooling is our immediate calling for discipleship. There is no greater responsibility. No greater privilege. No greater reward. Listen to the voice of God!
Maintaining One Heart: Teach Everyone Together: Build Families and Stay Sane!!! - Jessica Hulcy
Jessica Hulcy, co-author of KONOS Curriculum, has been teaching home school for 30+ years and still claims to be sane! She credits multi-level teaching with allowing her to teach as much as possible to all her children at one time thereby keeping her sanity while also building family togetherness. Jessica will show actual video footage of her teaching her boys using the unit method to effectively impart knowledge to children of varying ages at the same time...challenging the oldest yet not frustrating the youngest.
The Heart: Relationships - Diane Waring
Relationship with God, in the marriage, towards the children, between the siblings, and in learning that He who holds all of us and all the universe together by the power of His Word would teach us how to walk together in love…The love that reflects His love…That brings glory and praise to Him. Amen.
The Heart: Inspiration (The Power of Affirmation) - Israel Wayne
When you are trying to inspire and motivate children, there are two forces that are often exerted: Positive and Negative Reinforcement. In this session, Israel explains the importance of Affirmation as a way to inspire an motive your reluctant child. Drawing from practical and Biblical examples, this session will help you to keep those important relational connections as you are attempting to impart knowledge.
The Heart: God’s Word in Our Home - Dakota Lynch
Whether iPhone or a leather-bound Bible, God’s life-giving words don’t belong in any other storage save one. God’s Word was meant for our hearts! “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart” (Deut. 6:6). How will you replace the flood of trivial data, the storm of clamoring voices, and the deluge of images in your heart with that which heals, frees, and teaches? Come hear practical strategies, time-proven principles, and problem-solving ideas for the lost art of systematic Scripture memorization.
The Heart: A Good Conscience - Dennis Gunderson
A good conscience is vital for our children to form in their youth! Parents can strengthen the conscience, so a child grows into an adult of strong convictions and is compelled, from within, away from sinful living and toward righteous choices, even when parents are not present. Let’s make one of the goals of our instruction “a good conscience” (1 Timothy 1:5). A practical plan for achieving this is the subject of this workshop.
